A few pushups is all it takes

(Jake Gyllenhaal, before and after)

Just saw the ads for The Prince of Persia, which prompted a comparison between Jake Gyllenhaal's new physique and his old one. One glance is all you need to know that he's had some pharmaceutical help. He has veins in the front of his shoulders, a convex-yet-muscular stomach, and a generally more gristly look, none of which are going to result from a new exercise program.

They could almost do a remake of Brokeback Mountain (Jake starred in the original) featuring the two fellows pictured above. The guy on the right could be the bottom, and the guy on the left the top.

I think that's Hollywood par for the course. I just hope he doesn't start throwing phones at hotel concierges.

Guy --
I think you're right. Actors and actresses will do anything for a role like that, from getting plastic surgery to having sex with the producer. They're certainly not going to stop at taking steroids.

Full disclosure: I'd probably do any of those things too.

It's interesting that he and his sister, Maggie, both chose to act for a living. I know that their parents (who split up) are/were involved in the entertainment business.
