"Obama shuts down WWII national memorial"

This is what really happened with that little episode involving the WWII vets.

Had the other side tried to pull off something like this, it would have been a national scandal.

It IS a scandal, and one of the reasons that I think you may be incorrect about the Repubs ending up holding the bag for the shut down, John.

Nobody believes the press anymore. (A shrinking minority of progtard idiots do, of course...but nobody really cares about a small core of uneducable f-tards or what they think).

The leftist rag sheets are going bankrupt, and guys like me are coming here for their info rather than relying on them for an honest appraisal of world events.

I once heard it said by some wag that liberals are the 'King Midas of shit'. Anything they touch eventually turns to crap. They own the press - nobody believes a word they write. They own the universities - and most are becoming intellectual wastelands. They own the gov't - and average citizens are getting up off the couch and going to tea party rallies - while others stay home and quietly load their guns.

The halo around The Magic Negro is fading and more and more people are beginning to call a spade a spade!

Betcha yer lunch money that Obama ends up wearing this one.

I do think that the Right is becoming more entrenched, thanks to Obama. But I'm not so sure that the middle is moving right. Most people don't take the effort to search out alternative viewpoints, and, even if they don't read the NY Times, are willing to accept whatever they hear on TV.

Because of the internet, those who want to make the effort can find their own inner common sense confirmed though.

But I can't be optimistic that the Left will be blamed for this shutdown. Cruz will have "the guy who shut down the government" sign hung around his neck by the mainstream media, and Obama will skate, just as he seems to have done on Benghazi, the IRS, and the NSA. Sad, but true.
