"Washington loves to misname laws"

An editorial in the NY Post this morning points out how our dishonest Congress often passes laws aimed at accomplishing the opposite of what their names would imply.

This is the hill that Obama and the Donks will die on. And good riddance too!

By 2016 this abortion will have pissed off just about everyone. The bills for it will be staggering. All the next presidential candidate has to do is say 'I promise to shitcan Obamacare' and it will be a done deal.

Good grief. It's time for America to get back to work.

You seem to have a much more optimistic view of the future than I have. I think the same half -- or slightly more than half -- of the population who voted for him in '12 will vote Democratic again in '16. They will simply remain willfully blind to everything except Democratic propaganda. If Obama's first term did not open their eyes, I doubt his second will. And with our changing demographics, specially if immigration "reform" goes through, the chances of a Republican President become increasingly unlikely.

Hillary will be the next Prez...mark it down.

After that, is anybodies guess? Lord help us.

Hate to say it, but I think you're right. The desire for "a woman President" is just too great. Plus the Dems will stop at nothing to win.

What's the economic consensus now, John? If I understand the situation correctly the Donks are only good as long as the credit cards hold out. Once they fail there are two choices that I see: cut Obama's social programs like an axe murderer, ditto for taxes...OR, square off against the 'successful' states that actually make money and pay their bills and loot them. I simply can't see conservative states standing by for that.

If those two dire outcomes are realistic...wouldn't Americans be smart enough to avert them before things get that bad?

I would like to think so. I have been seeing signs that are encouraging too. The negroes were prevented from hijacking the Zimmerman case the way they did with the OJ Simpson case. There are the odd media articles coming out that are honestly critical of Obama. Last I saw, Obutthole's approval rate was around 37%. That's where Bush and the repubs were before they got turfed.

The way I see it, things can only go downhill from here - and all this crap will land smack dab on the one clot headed cankle in America that most assuredly and truly deserves it: Hillary Clinton!

Are you a sporting man, John? I will bet a bottle of my favourite scotch against your rotgut of choice that the Donks will be set on fire and run out of town in 2016!

The economic consensus isn't bright, but the government's credit cards can certainly hold out past 2016. They've actually been getting stretched for a long time, far pre-dating the Obama administration, even if he was the most profligate borrower.

And unless states can secede, which they can't, even the red states have no choice but to do the government's will.

The only reason the Zimmerman case had a different outcome than the OJ case (in terms of which race "won") was because of the makeup of the jury. In the OJ case, Marcia Clarke thought that all those women would identify a women before they identified as blacks, which was incredibly stupid. I don't see the Zimmerman case as indicative of any great movement towards conservatism, merely a defense lawyer who learned from the OJ case that you can't depend on a black jury to rule non-tribally.

So I agree with Spychiatrist: Hillary, cankles and all, will win in '16, bless Benghazi or some other scandal really blows up in her face. And I actually am a betting man, but the logistics of such a bet are a little difficult. On top of which, we (and a lot of others) already have enough at stake already. But thanks.

BTW, I thought Romney was going to win in '12, so I don't have a great track record; sure hope I'm wrong again.

Don't worry folks, we can all look forward to a glorious future under the Dems who can be relied on to (as Obama promised in '08)..

“..[be] bold and swift....... to create new jobs... to lay a new foundation for growth”

“..wield technology's wonders to raise health care's quality and lower its cost”

“...harness the sun and the winds and the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories”

“ ..transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age”

“...manage the public's dollars ...[and]... be held to account - to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do .. business in the light of day - ..[to].. restore the vital trust between a people and their government”

“...resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics for so long...”

“.. restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American Dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth – that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we can’t, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people: Yes We Can”

rejoice that

“..a new dawn of American leadership is at hand..” “..old hatreds shall .. pass... the lines of tribe shall soon dissolve.... as the world grows smaller, our common humanity shall reveal itself; and .... America must play its role in ushering in a new era of peace”

Wow, I'd forgotten about a lot of those promises. No wonder people voted for him back in '08.

(I'm a little less clear on why they voted for him in '12.)
