"Vetting Obama's Witless Vetters at DHS"

This article by Michelle Malkin will make your blood boil.

Presidents have always rewarded their donors with cushy ambassadorships. But there's no excuse for  having important positions at the Department of Homeland Security staffed with these types, especially when they're completely unqualified for the jobs they hold.

Speaking of witless, you can add this one of Jeb to your "punchable face" collection.

LOL.

Ha, yes, thank you.

I actually think his face became slightly less punchable looking when he lost weight for the campaign this past summer. Before that, his soft, fat boy look added to his punchability. At least we can take satisfaction in knowing that he must feel as if he's been metaphorically punched by the electorate, having started off as the frontrunner but with his campaign quickly being relegated to joke status by the voters, who were less than enchanted with his "act of love" immigration policies.

In a way, you almost have to feel sorry for him, since he was running as Bush III he was more or less obliged to stick up for his brother's policies, which put him in the position of having to defend the Iraq War, which pretty much everybody recognizes now was a mistake. And he had the misfortune of having to go up against Trump, who's changed the rules of the game, and whose mockery of him he had no answer for.

But, honestly, I don't feel sorry for him. He would have opened our borders and sent our boys to die in the Middle East, so screw him.

This sort of all too common situation is one of the main reasons why any sort of "National Competency Board" for permitting anything should always be highly suspect.

Yes, such a board would be staffed by the same people at DHS: party hacks who've paid to play and whose chief criterion for approving people would be party loyalty. It would have nothing to do with actual competency.

George W Bush was widely criticized by the mainstream media for having appointed Michael Brown as head of FEMA, but at least Brown had served as Undersecretary of Emergency Preparedness and Response, a Division of DHS, beforehand. Obama is appointing people with absolutely no background in the field, such as Jeh Johnson, but even after they scored complete misses on the Tsarnaev brothers and the San Bernadino couple, no one is calling him to task. Surprise surprise.

We have a dishonest, incompetent President, so it makes sense that he would give plumb jobs to unqualified cronies. These government employees carry out the President's agenda. Personally, I think that Valerie Jarrett is running our country, the true brains behind what transpires in our country.

Yes, birds of a feather…..I've heard the same, that Valerie Jarrett is his Svengali.

Anything about Obama makes my blood boil.

I feel the same. Just seeing his face or hearing his voice these days is enough to fill me with disgust.

This does make my blood boil John. But correct me if I'm wrong, appointing cronies is common in the United States isn't it? I do understand and acknowledge that Obama's cronyism has reached a level of idiocy that is unparalleled, but we really have to stop this business of cronyism. For example, and I usually hate it when my fellow conservatives say this, but appointing somebody like that for an important security related position in Israel would be literally impossible. I think it would also be impossible in the UK. Again, I don't usually like to invoke arguments like that. But in this case it's relevant. There's something deeply wrong with our country.

Couple of other things. Did you hear about the omnibus spending bill? It was passed last night or rather this morning at 2 a.m. it basically gives Obama carte blanche to do anything and everything he wants to wreck the country. And the person responsible for this monstrosity? Paul fucking Ryan. If we, the American people, want to do anything about this, we have to organize like the NRA is organized and make our wishes concrete.

Appointing cronies is common in the US, but I've never heard of it being done for a position of national importance like the head of DHS before Obama. Obama's previous appointee to that position, Janet Napolitano, was just as bad. She'd been Governor of Arizona before, but, really, had no experience win security per se. The position really ought to go to a military guy, or an old CIA hand, or a Ray Kelly, or someone like that. I don't know how they do things in England and Israel, but no, I can't imagine that cronyism would win out for a position like that.

Not familiar with the inner workings of the spending bill, but the Republicans have been over a barrel on this year after year, because they know the media will blame them for a government shutdown if one occurs. Not that Ryan is anything but a cuckservative. Obama does what he wants with his executive orders anyway. My favorite recent one was "ban the box," which I guess sounds a lot better than "Let's hire felons to work for the US government!"

We need Trump.

Regarding Obama, I've never cared for him. He reminds me of a peacock. The whole time he's been President (two terms), I have always done by best not to watch him on t.v. I don't want to hear him speak or look at him. I probably am in the minority on this, but so be it.

I think there are a lot of people who feel the way that you do by this point.

I don't accept excuses. If the Republican Party can't stand the heat then they should get out of the kitchen. The NRA stands up for its constituency, the Republican members of Congress can stand up for theirs. Paul Ryan should be Cantored.

By the way Trump just released a statement about the omnibus bill. Its a corker. Google it, read it, it will make your heart warm and happy, that there is one person in public life speaking the truth!

Just read it, yes, it was good. I like the way Trump sans to cut back on corporate welfare, and I like the fact that he's come down on the political contribution/buying influence process as well. But he already had my vote. I just hope that enough of the American people realize come next November that the media has been lying to them about a lot of things.
