The best part......

....of all this, if Trump does win -- and I'm still keeping my fingers crossed as of 11:04 PM -- will be to see how the New York Times, Boston Globe, New York Daily News, Washington Post, etc, all analyze the results tomorrow morning.

Will they eat crow and say they called it wrong, and admit that they were unable to sway the voters, who saw right through them? Will they say that their polls were faulty, and that all of their hysterical handwringing over Trump's "sexual assaults" and "racism" were all in vain?

Will they admit that Hillary Clinton was an incredibly flawed candidate, a completely amoral, corrupt, serial liar? And that the Democratic National Committee which rigged the primaries for her was just as bad?

Of course not. They'll figure out some way to make it sound as if they were the lone voices of reason and that the American people were taken in by Donald Trump's lies.

And, they'll spend the next four years doing their best to spin everything in a way that will allow them to say, we told you so!

But, the best news of all is news they won't report: that a majority of the American public now sees right through the media spin, and recognize them for the charlatans that they are.

Speaking of mea culpas, I should probably do one here as well: I was naive enough to believe some of the polls I saw, and thought that Hillary would win -- as I said a couple times on this blog. But it's since become apparent that the pollsters themselves are just another branch of the MSM.

Can't say I'm unhappy to have been wrong......

I made several bets on Trump starting earlier this year. But for the last days, I was quite pessimistic about his chances. Very much like you.

But since the pollsters are just another branch of the mainstream media. The polls were totally out of touch with reality.

It looks good now. If Trump wins it will be a sign of hope for us in Europe. Marie Le Pen and AFD next :-).

Good betting.

As of 11:32 my fingers are still crossed but right now it looks as if Trump could lose Michigan (where he's still got a narrow lead) and still win.

Yes, there may still be hope for Western civilization.

Just wow. This is about as close as it gets tonight. The media is already acting surprised and starting to cover for themselves, especially over at MSNBC.

Looks like he may have Michigan?

Very exiting day so far watching your night unfold from the other side of the world. I don't believe it.

I don't see how the media CAN cover for themselves, they went crazy this past summer basically warning us about the second coming of Adolf Hitler. How do they explain that the country disagreed with them, and that virtually all of their polls were wrong?

Andrew -
At the moment, with 65% of the vote reported, Trump is leading in Michigan, 48.1% vs. 46.9%.

Yes, very exciting.

Hillary had more baggage than an airport. Many people (cuckservatives specifically) months ago liked to proclaim that a republican would become president if it was "anyone but Trump" but the opposite was actually true for the democrats. I think that if any other democrat ran the democrats would have done much better. I wonder if democrats will choose another black man next time to make sure they will always have high black turnout?

If Trump keeps his promises or not I'm just happy that the Supreme court will not get the chance to be majority liberal for a few decades. Getting a majority liberal supreme court for 30 years scared me more than anything. Trump promised to nominate supreme court justices that would be like Scalia was.

Stopping by to say . . . I called it.

It's very close. Been hung up at 254 Trump, 215 Clinton, for an hour.

At first the media will be very respectful and chastened. They did that with Reagan. Then they'll turn on Trump.

But they've been exposed. So many things are happening, John. It's more than just an election. I don't have all my thoughts composed.

I voted Trump. Hillary's a criminal, and the 3rd/4th party candidates are useless. I got it together & did it. She's a criminal.

it will be interesting to see how the media spins the results...they will credit an increase in white voters, but neglect to mention that Trump won PA because he got twice the black vote as Romney...

He's won.

And I take back what I said about the media being respectful. I just flipped the channels - they are all being disgraceful.

This is an amazing moment. Savor it. But I'm also scared. The country is so divided and Obama whipped up blacks into such a frenzy.

I agree. They are in disbelief. To them, Americans are just stupid. Still waiting on the last few states to be called.

Congrats. Trump won.

By the way, John do you think that it actually helped Hillary that she was leading in the polls?

I see two possibilities here but cannot make up my mind. Either her voter base was encouraged to vote because they will win and everyone is jumping on the bandwagon or they were discouraged because why vote Hillary will win anyway. Same for the voters of the opponent, do they try harder when their candidate is behind in the polls or are they discouraged? What do you think?

"Hillary had more baggage than an airport."

Ha, well put. And yes, the Supreme Court is all important, maybe THE most important thing.

Speaking of which, I'm still not 100% sure Scalia wan't murdered.

John Craig said...

Pangur --
No question, you did. Time to exult.

(I'm exulting, too, and I called it wrong.)

I'm glad you came to your senses and voted for the right guy.

Yes, this is a revolution of sorts. Against the establishment, the corporations, the media, the entire politically correct hierarchy.

And yes, Hillary is a criminal.

I think we now have to prepare to be disappointed on certain things. I still have my doubts about whether that wall will get built. But with a majority in both the House and Senate, more is possible. Obama campaigned a s guy who would reach across the aisle, and of course never did. I think Trump, who hasn't campaigned as one, actually will, at least on certain issues. My biggest fear now is that the cuckservatives will try to stymie him.

Your prediction has already come true. I've glanced at a few headlines, and that's exactly what they're saying.

Ha! Yes......sounds sweet, doesn't it?

That face says it all, doesn't it? My first reaction: is that a man or a woman?

The NY Post had a montage of Hillary supporters reacting in disbelief that you might enjoy:

I honestly don't know. The thinking of the media was always, let's pound those Trump voters into submission and discourage them from voting, we want them to know Trump's a lost cause. But, yeah, it could have backfired by infusing every Trump supporter with the feeling that his vote was crucial and it could have made the Hillary supporters overconfident and perhaps a little lackadaisical about actually showing up. We'll never really know for sure.

To know HRC is to dislike her. Whereas the more "independent" voters studied Trump, the more they came to the conclusion that he really wasn't racist, rapist Hitler. The lib/progs overplayed their hand with a candidate who had no redeeming attributes.

John Craig said...

Luke --
Couldn't agree more. The libs/progs have been overplaying their hand for years now, and this election was a backlash. The True Believers of the Left will never see through their own propaganda, but the Independents, thank goodness, were actually independent enough to see through the media.

As for HRC, yes, just ask the Arkansas State Troopers, Secret Service agents, and State Department security detail who had to guard her. They all evidently hated her with a passion borne of her contempt for them. I read recently that her State Department security detail actually exulted when she slipped and broke her elbow. The idea that that Lady MacBeth/Nurse Ratched/harpy from hell would have been our President was sickening.

I am thrilled that Trump won. Surprised (hands shaking) because he underwent vicious attacks by all sides. God bless Trump and with him, the USA.

Putin congratulated Trump on his win. Trump has been through awfulness. This has to be a sweet victory for him. I have never been so happy to see any candidate win in my lifetime.

I saw that too. Hopefully this will usher in an era of cooperation between Russia and the US. Hillary would have ushered in, or at least risked, WWIII with her no fly zone above Syria.

Hillary deludes herself into thinking that she is a leader of people. I am so grateful that she did not win the presidency. Amen.
