My guess, they originally intended to make it a period piece but then decided it would be too much trouble, and subsequently did a somewhat patchwork job of updating it. Pac-Man was called "a classic". Some guy mentions the '90s nostalgically, among others. I really thought it was the early '80s when he walked into the Pizza shop where this future boss was playing pac man. The outfits, the haircuts, the sign for a pay phone, and the feeling overall. Took me right back.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5794535954827182754.post-26841963388767636792013-11-19T02:13:36.904-05:002013-11-19T02:13:36.904-05:00Anon --

It had the feel of a period piece -- of an older guy reminiscing about his youth -- but I don't recall anything from the movie specifically setting it back a few decades.

I did go to a water park with my kids just 10 years ago; it was fun. We'll keep that car in the story for no good reason."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5794535954827182754.post-34656672635999451202013-11-18T21:21:53.571-05:002013-11-18T21:21:53.571-05:00Thanks Donna, glad you enjoyed it.Thanks Donna, glad you enjoyed it.John Craighttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08729625146043379286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5794535954827182754.post-50577851518234238902013-11-18T20:36:42.086-05:002013-11-18T20:36:42.086-05:00Excellent movie, John, we watched it last night an...Excellent movie, John, we watched it last night and thought it was excellent!
