The gays' reaction to Caitlyn

It was hard not to notice that a lot of the positive comments about Caitlyn yesterday were from gay people. And it's hard not to suspect that a lot of their enthusiasm for Jenner's transformation is because it makes them appear normal by comparison:

Hey, we may enjoy what you consider perverted sex, but at least we don't mutilate ourselves.

I assume Jenner has been a transvestite his entire life. Now he realizes he can capitalize on this and call himself a transexual. The queers know he is not gay, and has no interest in sleeping with men. Homosexuals are attracted to men and avoid sleeping with actual transvestites, because they enjoy male genitalia. Homosexuals are grossed out by vaginas and the female form.

I think you mean "transsexuals" in your last sentence, but yes, you're right.

And I guess the entire basis of my argument in this post is wrong given your comment on the other post about how he's probably kept his genitalia.

Thanks for the correction

Jenner may one day decide to castrate himself, but I suppose the hormones he takes chemically render him a eunuch

wonder if Jenner would be on the cover of Vanity Fair if he was "Transable"
Becoming disabled by choice, not chance: ‘Transabled’ people feel like impostors in their fully working bodies

“We define transability as the desire or the need for a person identified as able-bodied by other people to transform his or her body to obtain a physical impairment,” says Alexandre Baril, a Quebec born academic who will present on “transability” at this week’s Congress of the Social Sciences and Humanities ..“The person could want to become deaf, blind, amputee, paraplegic. It’s a really, really strong desire.”

Most crave an amputation or paralysis, though he has interviewed one person who wants his penis removed. Another wants to be blind. Many people arrange “accidents” to help achieve the goal. One dropped an incredibly heavy concrete block on his legs — an attempt to injure himself so bad an amputation would be necessary. But doctors saved the leg. He limps, but it’s not the disability he wanted. Some of his study participants do draw parallels to the experience many transgender people express of not feeling like they’re in the right body. Baldwin says this disorder is starting to be thought of as a neurological problem with the body’s mapping, rather than a mental illness.

Wow. Just wow. I'd never heard of that one before.

Your point seems to be that being transgendered is similar to being transabled, and I agree with it. Reading about this really leaves you with a weak, uncomfortable, sick feeling. These poor people. Everything possible should be done to cure them of their mental condition before they harm themselves. Maybe they're both neurological.

I can understand someone like Bradley Manning or George Jorgensen feeling that they're really women, since they were both extremely effeminate guys with few male hormones to begin with. That's one of the things that makes the whole Jenner affair so jarring. At one point, he was one of the most masculine, urged athletes in the world (albeit with the help of steroids).
