The story of Danney Williams, who has long claimed to be Bill Clinton's son via a black prostitute, has been gaining some traction recently. This article in the Daily Mail from a month ago provides several interesting photographs:
There does seem to be a resemblance, and his mother claims that she had no other white clients at the time Danney was conceived, and "regularly" had sex with Clinton.
This raises a number of questions:
Why does Bill not consent to a DNA test?
Would Bill's attitude toward his son, if he is indeed his son, be any different if Danney were white?
What does Hillary have to say about this? Isn't she at all curious as to whether Chelsea might indeed have a half-brother?
And what does it say about Hillary's real attitudes if she is courting the black community for their votes but simultaneously gives the cold shoulder to a member of her own extended family, possibly in part because he is black?
If he were white they would fight it, but they wouldn't dismiss it outright. At some point they would consent to a DNA test. But I don't think it's pure and simple racism. I think that the Clinton's relationship with blacks is very enmeshed, and the fact that he was fucking a black prostitute is very embarrassing to them. Power imbalances, white man, black woman and all that. But Danney's mom seems to have turned her life around, in the oft-used phrase of journalistic hackdom. And Danney is not an aspiring rap star.
ReplyDeleteIf you axe me, Bill is Danney's baby daddy.

ReplyDeleteI would guess the same, the resemblance is pretty strong, and Danney's mother seems pretty convinced. Plus she has less motive to lie than Bill Clinton does. But, of course, we can't know until a definitive DNA test has been done.
I agree that the denial is not purely because Williams is black; but it's hard not to wonder if that's not part of it.
This is almost laughable. With Bill Clinton, anything is possible. Since the alleged son is the offspring of a hooker, I don't see Bill or HRC acknowledging the young man or attempting to develop a relationship with him. That's not going to happen.

ReplyDeleteI don't see it either, but if Williams does convince Monica Lewinsky to give him some of the DNA from that sperm-splattered blue dress of hers, which he's attempting to do right now, and if it's proven that he's Clinton's son, Bill will have no choice but to acknowledge him in some way or other.
True. Maybe (and I think this is highly unlikely), Bill could be like Arnold Swharzenegger and go ahead and forge a friendship with his illegitimate son. I feel sorry for the young man. His bio dad could be Bill Clinton and his stepmother would be HRC. I wonder if the Clintons would be willing to share any of their ill-gotten money with this alleged son? The Clintons truly have lived out a soap opera in their lifetimes.

Who owns the dress?
ReplyDeleteLinda Tripp thinks that if she hadn't convinced Monica to keep the dress Monica would have been executed.
I used to think that talk was crazy, but now, no, I don't.

ReplyDeleteMy guess is, Bill would probably make some minimal financial gesture for the sake of PR. As far as Hillary, Danney's very existence would be a thorn in her side, a reminder of Bill's sexual addiction. She might have a PR person put out a pro forma statement, maybe not.

ReplyDeleteThere have always been those rumors around the Clintons, that people who might testify against them have a habit of ending up dead, whether it's various Arkansas State Troopers, Vince Foster, Ron Brown, or whoever. The thing about Bill, though, is, as a sex addict he couldn't possibly go around killing all of his various partners, there's no graveyard large enough to hold all those bodies.
You really do never now with the Old Dawg. I could easily see him forging a relationship and maybe a good one with Danney - if the DNA proves out. (Danney is definitely half white, and to me he really does look like Dawg.)
ReplyDeleteHill would hate him, but what would be better than a black son in the White House, to follow the first black President? The black First Son? Well, sort of. If it works politically, she'll take it.
And you're right, if Bill's reluctance has anything whatever to do with race, then that's racist, even if it's not the only thing that would make him reluctant to acknowledge the boy.
BTW, if nothing illustrates the difference between men and women, this business of acknowledging a child does. A woman can't bug out on a kid very easily.

ReplyDeleteOrdinarily, a black child would do wonders for a white politician looking to ingratiate himself with black voters -- having a black family is certainly what got Mayor de Blasio elected -- but the circumstances here are so weird, and so indicative of Bill's sexual addiction, that I don't think it would be. Plus there'd be the question of, what took him so long? Why did he ignore this kid for 31 years? That would be a hard one to explain.
True, a guy can claim the child is not his. Really, the only traditional recourse available to a woman as to put the child up for adoption, or, back in the old days, to leave the child at the front door of the hospital.
It seems like the Clintons barely care about their own daughter Chelsea. If the rumors are true Hillary might have had a closer relationship to Huma (before the antohy Weiner scandal) compared to Chelsea.

ReplyDeleteThat does seem to be the case. And how funny that Chelsea and Huma have such a frosty relationship. Hillary in the past has described Huma as a "second daughter," which I always figured was just cover for "lover." But the fact that Chelsea hates her so much does make it seem like sibling rivalry.
And what's really funny is that ever since this most recent Anthony Weiner scandal broke out, the Clinton campaign has been referring to her "second daughter" as "a staffer."
Very few of these "so-and-so famous person is my daddy" allegations turn out to be true. When a low-class African American is alleging it, the odds of its being true become vanishingly small.
ReplyDeleteFor what it's worth, Accuracy in Media says "Time magazine had learned that the DNA tests cleared Clinton."
"Clinton didn't father hooker's son"

ReplyDeleteIf you read the Daily Mail account I linked it says that there are doubts about the accuracy of the DNA test that Star Magazine conducted. I'd think it would be easy enough for interested parties to rig a DNA test (giving someone else's sample, etc.) to make it show what you want. (Think in terms of the many ways that doped athletes get by testing procedures). And the fact that the Washington Post would described Williams' claims as "slimy" could just mean they were in the tank for Bill, same as they are for Hillary now.
I wouldn't be surprised the claims turned out to be untrue, but I also wouldn't be surprised to find out they were true.
Bill Clinton reportedly polishes off the NY Times crossword puzzle without breaking a sweat. Meanwhile his purported son doesn't know how to spell "Danny."

ReplyDeleteHa! Well that is one trait that doesn't seem to have been passed along. Though I'd attribute that spelling error to Danney's mother and not him.
