The media swallowed it all, accepting whatever he claimed as being accurate and true. As time goes on it's less a matter of what's false as it is of what is there about him that's true. He and his wife increasingly seem like some high-living con artists.

You are exactly right. "Con artist" is precisely what he is. I've never seen a politician, let alone a President, who has so often done the opposite of what he said he was going to.
So much about him, from his accent to his family background to his "bipartisanship," is just completely phony.
