How long will the honeymoon last?

It's been said in the past that all Presidents enjoy a honeymoon period with the press upon first assuming office. It may last a month, or it may last longer.

As gratifying as it's been to see the press treat Trump with respect and fairness, I'm worried that sooner or later he's going to do something which will turn them against him.

And then, I'm afraid, the honeymoon will be over.

I fear so too.

We must be watching or reading different media outlets. They hate and disrespect him as much as they did while they were coronating Hillary. I'm loving Trump! He's doing what he said he would do.

This post was a joke. We're watching the same outlets.

Frankly, Trump is not bothered what others think of him. He has done all, enjoyed 3 official honeymoons and numerous unofficial ones. He wants to make his dream for America a reality whether the others agree with him or not.

He simply has high self esteem. He had parents who really loved him that is apparent from the relationship he has with his children, he really seems to be a good father. I was surprised to read in Vanity Fair that his 2 daughters actually get along. It really takes some skill to manage kids from 3 different woman. One aspect that has struck me is he is not vicious he reacts to barbs with childish insults but that’s it.

The election was real fun watching but the Trump show has just begun and it’s pure entertainment watching the drama unfold, reality TV at it’s best.

Yes, he does seem to have great family relationships, and particularly impressive is the relationships with the ex-wives. Very few people could pull that off.

I wouldn't say he's not bothered by hat other say about him -- otherwise why would he respond so viciously to insults and criticism -- but I do love the way he's determined to go ahead with his agenda no matter what the MSM says. I saw a headline somewhere yesterday that said something to the effect of, "Media furious with Trump because he wants to make good on his campaign promises." A President actually wants to do what he promised, so they're outraged. Hmm.

And yes, the entertainment has been great so far. Loved his comment about Schumer's acting coach yesterday.

The latest Left / MSM meltdown is over Trump's travel ban, affecting seven countries: Iraq, Syria, Iran, Libya, Sudan, Somalia and Yemen.

I don't know how many non-US citizens might have traveled to the US during the 90 day period.

But if the life of even *one* US citizen is saved by the travel inconvenience, or even life disruption of: thousands? tens of thousands? hundreds of thousands, millions, or even tens of millions of non-US citizens from seven countries (three are U.S.-designated state sponsors of terror, and the other four are war zones) - then that is well worth it.

The president is doing his job to protect the US citizenry.

The Left and MSM are like a petulant child. If you cross them its: tantrums, misrepresentations and falsehoods.

I can only hope Trump has the strength and perseverance to continue to advance his agenda, undeterred by the MSM / Left continual melt-down, for the next four years.

"Petulant child" is right. Their behavior indicates they never grew up.

The amazing thing is, the underlying assumption to all of their protests is that US citizenship should be a right of anybody from anywhere in the world who wants it. This means, in effect, that there is no advantage to US citizenship, since it's something that should be available to anyone.

There is no other country in the world who has an immigration policy like that. And look at the way Saudi Arabia and some of the other Gulf states refuse to take in a single Syrian immigrant, saying it will raise the odds of terrorism occurring in their country. Well what about us?

Saudi Arabia did, however, generously offer to fund Islamic mosques in Germany, instead. What would the world's reaction be if we offered to build Christian churches in Saudi Arabia?

You had me fooled, you should play poker. I thought your post about the "press honeymoon" was serious. Got me good, hat tip.

As for your 9:46 post, very good points. I agree 100%. We should keep in mind that the numbers of protesters who rapidly deployed to various airports stinks of organization, preparation, and money. The people protesting I would assume are nothing more or less than rent a mob, with perhaps a few exceptions. I doubt very much that anyone there took a sick day or a vacation day from work to attend.

It's hard to tell if people are kidding on the internet sometimes, there's no body language there to read. I suppose I should take that into account more.

And yes, a lot of these protesters hold up machine made identical placards, which means that they're being financed by someone like Georg Soros. And yes, ha, not a lot of sick days being taken there.

Thank you Luke.

I guess the problem, as indicated by a couple of the comments above, is that I intersperse the occasional humorous posts among more serious ones (especially angry ones) and so people don't realize I've suddenly switched the tone.
