British actress Kadian Noble said Tuesday she was head-over-heels impressed when she first met Weinstein at an event in London because he was hanging out with model Campbell and had megastar Oprah “swinging off his arm.”
“I thought, obviously, this man has something amazing in store for me,” she said during a teary-eyed press conference in Manhattan to discuss the sex trafficking lawsuit she filed a day earlier against Weinstein in Manhattan federal court.
Instead, Weinstein used promises of career advancement to lure the actress to his hotel room in Cannes, France, where he forced himself on her, she said.
I have no idea whether there's any merit to Noble's lawsuit. It seems to me that whether Weinstein was socializing with Naomi Campbell and Oprah is irrelevant. I wouldn't be surprised if he did hold out the sugar plum of acting roles in order to entice her to his hotel room. And it certainly wouldn't be out of character for him to have been aggressive about obtaining sex from her, either.
But, I obviously have no idea about what went on between the two of them.
What made the article interesting to me was Noble's picture:
This is a classic sociopathic pose: wiping away a nonexistent tear. Look closely at that photo, and see if you see any evidence of liquid emerging from her eye, or on her cheek. And note that her eye makeup remains unsmudged.

She looks a little like La Toya Jackson. Poor Harvey, he just might have false claims being made against him by others of his kind. I'm sure it's a headache for him. In a way, it's somewhat laughable.

Yeah, a little, but she's better-looking than LaToya. Even with all the artifice at work there, she's still attractive.
number one - just based on that one photo, my subconscious lizard brain (he who is very wise) doesn't trust her looks either
number two - this is WHY YOU COOL, not being scared to lean in and swipe at a (putative) victim...mostly everybody in our weak inept culture is too scared of hurting feelings or seeming evil...whereas you, DEAR MISTER CRAIG, just rise up onto your hind legs and call them like you see them...

In the article she said she felt she had been played by Weinstein, and all I could think when I read that was, ah, from a woman who likes to be the one doing the playing.
As usual, you're giving me way too much credit. I'm not that cool, I slathered this post with disclaimers, it wasn't as if I just called her a dishonest gold-digging schemer.
is harvey weinstein the only source of work for actresses ?
i don't recall even seeing or hearing about his chick in the movie biz and really doubt we ever will.
She must have noticed prior to HW she was not exactly fending off producers dying to have her featured in james bond movies. so her chatting up Harv was basically a hail mary pass and even HW could not find a spot to land her.
i am thinking HW was the mark here and our girl gave it a shot. despite her "efforts' HW eventually likely said sorry no role for you AND then she tired to play another card.
if she is so talented then somebody, somewhere night have noticed.
she is looking for a pay day -nothing more

Good point, I think she only has one credit to her name, she evidently couldn't find work elsewhere either. And i agree, she was looking to play Harvey, but got played instead, and now she's resentful and wants her payday. I suspect a jury will not see it her way.
That said, it's awfully hard to break into the movies; lots of people try, and few succeed. And of those who have succeeded, a lot of them had to get on their knees to do so, with Harvey or with someone like him.
Classic sociopath wiping away nonexistent tears. Definitely. It can also go the other way. A sociopath will actually manage to produce tears and when they do, they do not wipe the tears away as most people do. Sociopaths work hard for those tears and they want people to see the tears. But at the same time, they don't seem to "get" that normal people wipe away tears because tears tend to irritate or tickle the face. Case in point: Good Morning America interview with Scott Peterson before it was discovered that he was the murderer of his wife Laci Peterson. He was on the show to get exposure for his "missing" wife. Towards the of the interview, he had managed to work up one good tear. That one tear rolled down his face very, very slowly...and any other person would have wiped it away immediately. That tear just kept going and going and it was uncomfortable to watch because you actually wanted him to wipe away that one tear because it was so distracting. But he wouldn't. He wanted people to see that one tear because he felt that it showed how upset he was about his missing wife.

That's a great story. And you're so right, it's very telling. I'd never thought of that before about how a normal person's instinct will be to wipe away the tear, whereas a sociopath wants you to see it. And how it would be so distracting to a viewer.
And yes, sociopaths are pretty much the only people who can produce tears on demand. Marion Jones was known to be able to do that, and Tonya Harding would evidently do it at parties to show off.
