Anthony Scaramucci

Amazing that he's out already, though I'm not sad to see the last of him.

He was sort of like Trump's id, and that's saying a lot, since Trump is sort of already the Republican electorate's id. Trump tries to feed the voters raw meat all the time, hence his comments like, "We treat the criminals too nice."

A lot of Trump's comments aren't quite ready for prime time, but he does know how to play to his audience.

You got the sense Scaramucci was doing the same to Trump, like some high school kid who's trying to prove he's badass. (He also reminded me a little of a 12-year-old who uses x-rated language in an attempt to shock his parents.)

But we don't need someone who's trying to out-Trump Trump. We need a grownup to tone Trump down.

Ultimately I think you are correct, but it was fun while it lasted. I enjoyed The Mooch spitting in the media's eye.

It was fun. But really, he was spitting on the other members of the administration more than he was at the media. And his insults weren't even on target. Priebus may be a standard issue Republican lackey who's never had an original thought in his life, but he's not a paranoid schizophrenic. And calling Bannon a guy who's always trying to suck his own cock? Bannon has made a point of staying in the background and not trying to get publicity for himself.

My son said while he was in high school that as long as we're going to have a black President, why can't we get someone entertaining like Mike Tyson? He now says he's going to miss Scaramucci. But he's talking about his entertainment value, not his value to the administration.

Scaramucci came across as suffering from ADHD, a completely annoying, unstable human being. I was glad to see him canned. Trump seems to be in need of a stabilizing force, someone like his new chief of staff. Having a military person can help establish order to a chaotic, insane environment. Whenever I read the news or watch the t.v., learning about the latest bit of drama engulfing the President and his administration, my head is just swimming (due to all the nonsense, pandemonium).

Some of that sense of pandemonium comes from the media, which try to inflate every little faux pas that Trump makes into an impeachable offense, and also makes a lot of noise about stuff that doesn't even reach the level of a faux pas. But yes, there is a certain sense of disorder in the WH right now, mostly created by Trump himself, who is also an ADHD personality.

Scaramucci called up a New Yorker reporter and ordered him to reveal his confidential source. How could someone other than an utter moron make such a demand? It shows complete incomprehension of how reporters operate.

Scaramucci evidently had zero experience in the communications/journalism field. Which showed.

He also trusted that reporter not to quote him; I guess he had no idea that the press is out to do whatever they can to make Trump look bad.

I have to wonder if Scaramucci feels it was worth losing his wife at this point?

I sorta get the impression from what I read of their relationship that Scaramucci didn't care all that much about his marriage. I think he cares more about his public image, which now has probably been tarnished beyond repair now that he's basically been held up to public ridicule. And from now on the press will be eager to find more things to ridicule him with, which will make it worse for him. He's been Anthony Weiner-ized.

There was an article where Trump stated that to his golfing buddies that the WH is a dump. My thinking about Trump is that he gets bored easily and needs to be on the move, thus he gets away during the weekends, giving himself a break from the WH (and DC). He can be in an environment that is more to his liking. He's 70+ years old, so I have no problem with him taking these trips.

You are right. I have not seen any indication that he ever really cared about the marriage. I'm not sure he will actually become the pariaha Weiner has become mainly because Scaramucci does not have the sex offender status as Weiner does. I think Scaramucci, if he plays his cards right, will have a future...meaning a job making enough money to feel somewhat comfortable. Many people even found Scaramucci entertaining. But Scaramucci needs to stop lying now. Especially about things that are so easily verified such as...he had been friends with the reporter he called for years and he was just venting to that friend... otherwise he truly will become unemployable. I don't think what he did when he called that reporter, in many people's mind, is an unpardonable offense. Weiner, on the other hand, has been relegated to the position equal to that of a pedophile. And that is the one crime that Americans can't stomach. He's done. By the way, I see that Weiner's wife has not filed for divorce and is now trying to work it out with him. What is going on there?

I have no problem with him getting away on weekends either, but saying that the White House is a dump is just plain stupid. How does that make the middle class of America feel, knowing that a place that would represent the ultimate in luxury to them is a dump to a guy who's been spoiled rotten by his money? And even if Trump was saying it to a couple of buddies, he should realize by now that people will overhear him, or report what he says, and that nothing he does is really private. And there's something obnoxiously Trump-like about that sentiment in the first place, it's his way of letting people know that his "standards" are way higher than everyone else's. It's his way of broadcasting what a "quality guy" he is.

You're right, I was exaggerating with the Weiner comparison, Scaramucci hasn't done anything nearly that bad. He's basically just a loudmouth and braggart who's too eager to impress people. As far as him making living and being "comfortable," I don't think that's a huge concern for him, I read somewhere that he was worth $70MM from Skybridge Capital, so it's not as if he has to worry about having a roof over his head.

I do think that the media will jump on any opportunity they can to make fun of Scaramucci though, he's the type they love to make fun of, especially now that he's been associated so directly with Trump.

I hadn't heard that Weiner and Abedin were trying to reconcile, I have no idea what that's about.

Trump doesn't think before he speaks. I think most Americans disagree with him. The WH is a national treasure.

Weiner had his name to keep him afloat, also that he was a Democrat and tied to Abedin (who was closely tied to Clinton). All of that stuff gave him a pass for a long time, much longer than anyone tied to Trump or the Republican party would. People were enamored with the freak named Weiner, it was a sideshow that finally ran its course. Scaramucci doesn't have that. To the press he's tainted from the get-go because he's tied to Trump.

So true.
